One of my friends, in his fifties was suffering from Angina ( pain in chest caused by blocking of coronary arteries) and was diagnosed to be having a blockage of all the three coronary arteries by a leading hospital in Gurgaon. He was advised surgical treatment which would cost Rs. 4.5 lakhs. He, instead of giving immediate consent to this treatment, decided to take a second medical opinion . He consulted another cardiologist, who after seeing his reports and after conducting another test, stated categorically that there was blockage of only one artery and the treatment would cost a maximum of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. A third opinion based on the reports corroborated the observations of the second cardiologist.
